Metal Melting Furnaces

Saunders Foundry Supply has been a distributor of MIFCO Metal Melting Furnaces for more than 30 years. Contact Saunders today and we’ll help you select the metal melting furnace you need and get you the best price available!

B-Series Melters
MIFCO manufactures some of the most versatile Melting Furnaces available. The wide temperature range will allow the melting of most non-ferrous metals used in casting and some grey iron up to class 30 or 35. All of these units have a temperature range of 1200° to 2400° F and are designed to melt as rapidly as possible. In the school shop or industrial foundry, these units have an immediate and profitable application. They cover nearly the entire range of modern melting needs. The initial investment for this type of industrial equipment is nominal and the maintenance is held to an absolute minimum due to the rugged construction and high quality of the furnace lining.

Flat Hearth Slot Forges
A modern designed forge, offered in 4 sizes to meet the requirements of the General Shop, Vocational and Agricultural School Shops or Blacksmith, Industrial, and Farm Maintenance Shops. The Flat Hearth Slot Forge is particularly adapted for tool dressing and sharpening, general forging, bending, and welding operations. Work is always visible to the operator, thus preventing burning and wasting of materials.

Safety Tongs
Saunders Foundry also supplies MIFCO safety tongs, which are designed and manufactured according to the recommendations of the Crucible Manufacturers Association. Safety tongs available for crucible sizes ranging from #10 up to #1000.

Digital Hand Lance Pyrometer
Quality and reliability so evident in MIFCO products for over 50 years built into the MD-250 Digital Hand Lance Pyrometer. This pyrometer has a rugged solid state instrument with 3/8" high numbers mounted in a rugged, aluminum housing. The easily replaceable tip can be ordered or replaced with 12" or 15" thermocouples. The instrument also has open thermocouple indication to let you know if the thermocouple tip needs replacing. For consistent quality castings you should have a user friendly MD-250 Digital Pyrometer in your foundry.
